Epithalon
The anti-aging peptide
Quickstart – key points
Epitalon (Epithalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) developed based on research on the pineal gland for its geroprotective potential.
Epitalon activates telomerase to favor telomere lengthening, supports healthy melatonin production to improve sleep and circadian rhythm regulation, and has been shown to increase longevity in animal models.
Human studies suggest potential benefits for longevity, cardiovascular health, and physiological function in older adults. This educational protocol presents a once-daily subcutaneous approach with a practical dilution for clear measurements with an insulin syringe.
- Reconstitution: Add 2.0 mL of bacteriostatic water → concentration of 5 mg/mL.
- Typical daily dose: 5,000 mcg (5 mg) once daily for 20 consecutive days.
- Easy measurement: At 5 mg/mL, 1 unit = 0.01 mL = 50 mcg on a U-100 syringe.
- Storage: Lyophilized: freeze at −20 °C; after reconstitution, refrigerate at 2–8 °C; avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Dosage and Reconstitution Guide
Educational guide for reconstitution and daily dosing.
Standard protocol (2 mL = 5 mg/mL)
Days 1–20 (active cycle): 5,000 mcg (5 mg) → 100 units (1.00 mL)
Weeks 4–26 (rest): 0 mcg
Frequency: Subcutaneous injection once daily, preferably at night or before bed to synchronize with natural melatonin. Complete 20 consecutive days and then rest for 4–6 months before repeating (usually 2 cycles per year).
Reconstitution Steps
- Draw 2.0 mL of bacteriostatic water with a sterile syringe.
- Inject slowly down the side of the vial; avoid foaming.
- Gently swirl until dissolved (do not shake).
- Label and refrigerate at 2–8 °C, protected from light.

Required Supplies
Plan based on a 20-day protocol at 5 mg daily.
- Peptide vials (Epitalon, 10 mg):
- 20-day cycle: 10 vials (each vial provides 2 doses)
- Insulin syringes (U-100):
- Per cycle: 20 syringes
- Bacteriostatic water (10 mL):
- 20 days: 20 mL → 2 bottles
- Alcohol wipes:
- Per cycle: 40 → recommend 1 box of 100
Protocol Overview
- Objective: Support telomere maintenance, melatonin regulation, and anti-aging effects.
- Duration: 20 consecutive days + 4–6 months rest.
- Dose: 5,000 mcg (5 mg) daily.
- Reconstitution: 2.0 mL per 10 mg vial (5 mg/mL).
- Storage: Lyophilized frozen; reconstituted refrigerated; avoid repeated freezing.
Dosing Protocol
- Standard dose: 5,000 mcg (5 mg) once daily.
- Alternative: 10 mg daily for 10 days (same total cycle dose).
- Frequency: Once daily (subcutaneous), preferably before bed.
- Cycle duration: 20 days in a row, then 4–6 months rest.
- Schedule: Nighttime administration; rotate injection sites.
Storage Instructions
- Reconstituted: 2–8 °C; use within 2–4 weeks; avoid freezing.
- Let the vial reach room temperature before opening to avoid condensation.
Important Notes
- Use new sterile syringes and dispose of correctly.
- Rotate sites (abdomen, thighs, arms) to avoid irritation.
- Inject slowly and wait before removing the needle.
- Record dose and injection sites.
- Reconstitute one vial every 2 days to keep the solution fresh.
How it works
Epitalon mainly acts by activating telomerase, favoring the lengthening of cellular telomeres. In vitro studies have shown that it can prolong cell division capacity beyond the usual limit. It also influences the neuroendocrine system by stimulating the nocturnal release of melatonin from the pineal gland, helping to normalize circadian rhythms. Additionally, it is attributed with antioxidant effects, genetic regulation, and immune system modulation.
Potential Benefits and Side Effects
- Support for telomere maintenance and cellular longevity.
- Improvement of melatonin production and circadian rhythms.
- Increased longevity observed in animal models.
- Cardiovascular improvements in long-term human studies.
- Generally well tolerated, with no serious adverse effects reported.
- Possible mild reactions at the injection site or temporary changes in sleep.
Lifestyle Factors
- Maintain good sleep habits.
- Balanced diet rich in antioxidants.
- Regular physical activity.
- Stress management to support circadian rhythm.
Injection Technique
- Clean vial and skin with alcohol and let dry.
- Pinch the skin and insert the needle at 45–90°.
- Do not aspirate; inject slowly.
- Rotate sites (abdomen, thighs, arms) to avoid irritation.
